The Association for the Study of Connecticut History

The Betty M. Linsley Award

The Association for the Study of Connecticut History invites nominations for the 2008 Betty M. Linsley Award, which will be presented at the annual meeting in November of 2008.  The award was established in 1994 by the Association for the Study of Connecticut History to recognize the best work on a significant aspect of Connecticut’s history published by, for, or on behalf of a Connecticut historical society during the previous calendar year.  The award honors Betty M. Linsley, Treasurer of ASCH, history teacher, librarian, archivist, and genealogist, for her work in promoting the study, teaching, and preservation of Connecticut history.  The types of works that are eligible include monographs, articles, films, exhibitions, television programs, cassette tapes, finding aids or guides to manuscript collection, subject bibliographies, etc.  A work will be considered only if nominated by someone other than the author, and a copy of the work must accompany the nomination.  Upon occasion ASCH may decide to present the award to an individual or organization whose achievements over a number of years merit recognition.

Nominations for the awards should be sent to:

Nancy H. Steenburg
493 Pequot Avenue
Mystic, CT 06355

The deadline for nominations is August 31, 2008.
