Connecticut History
Submission Guidelines:
Connecticut History
is a publication of the Association for the Study of Connecticut
History, and appears
twice annually, in the spring and fall. The journal is published in
cooperation with Central Connecticut State
University and receives generous financial support from the Connecticut
Humanities Council’s Cultural
Heritage Development Fund.
Connecticut History focuses on bridging the history “gap” between
academia, public history institutions,
secondary
educators, and history buffs. Each issue contains original articles, a
curriculum guide, exhibition
reviews, book
reviews, web site reviews, notes, and primary source documents on the
history and culture of
Connecticut.
Articles appearing in the journal are abstracted and indexed in
America History and Life, indexed
in
Periodical Source Index (Persi), and The Journal of American
History.
The journal seeks original research articles on a wide variety of
topics, spanning all aspects of Connecticut’s
history. The
journal is also interested in essays on special programs or holdings of
historical societies and
museums, as well as
articles on history pedagogy and educational programs at both the
collegiate and secondary
level. There is no
set word length on articles. Black and White photographs and
illustrations are welcome.
In addition to article submissions, the journal also solicits authors
and publishers who would like to have books
reviewed, as well
as historical societies and museums that that would like to have
exhibitions reviewed or listed
within the
“Exhibitions of Interest” section of the journal. Historical societies
and museums may also contact the
editor regarding
potential essays on particular programs or collections.
